Instructions

Alternating Hang Clean

1

Place two kettlebells between your feet. To get in the starting position, push your butt back and look straight ahead.

2

Clean one kettlebell to your shoulder and hold on to the other kettlebell in a hanging position. Clean the kettlebell to your shoulder by extending through the legs and hips as you pull the kettlebell towards your shoulders. Rotate your wrist as you do so.

3

Lower the cleaned kettlebell to a hanging position and clean the alternate kettlebell. Repeat.

Lying Hamstring

1

Lie on your back with your legs extended. Your partner should be kneeling beside you. Raise one leg up towards the ceiling and have your partner hold the ankle. Your partner can use their shoulder to brace your leg if necessary. This will be your starting position.

2

With your partner holding your leg in place, attempt to flex the knee, contracting the hamstrings for 10-20 seconds.

3

Then relax your leg, allowing your partner to gently push the leg towards your head. Be sure to inform your helper when the stretch is adequate to prevent injury or overstretching. Switch sides once complete.

Verdict

Both exercises target the hamstrings. Alternating Hang Clean is a intermediate exercise using kettlebells, while Lying Hamstring is expert and uses other. Choose Alternating Hang Clean if you're looking for a more accessible option, or Lying Hamstring for a greater challenge.
